The Chakra Cleansing Guide

The Chakra Cleansing Guide

Chakras originate from the holistic Indian healing practice of Ayurveda. Now that modern society is beginning to accept ancient healing methods on a larger scale, the use of chakras is becoming increasingly common.

Each chakra center—of which there are seven in the human body—has its own unique type of energy.

The Root

This red chakra is stored at the bottom of the spine. It holds the energy that surrounds your basic needs, home life, money, and survival instincts. If the root chakra is disturbed, you will feel aimless, unwell, and anxious. If it’s balanced, however, you’ll feel secure about domestic matters.

Watermelon, strawberries, apples, and tomatoes all help to care for the root chakra, as does spending time in nature.

The Sacral

This orange chakra is stored beneath the naval. It holds the energy that surrounds your creativity and sexuality. If the sacral chakra is disturbed, you will find it difficult to relate to people and your sex life will feel blocked. If it’s balanced, however, you’ll feel nourished and playful.

Carrots, avocados, melons, and oranges help to care for the sacral chakra, and it helps to engage in healthy sexual activity which will help you to feel complete in your relationship.

The Solar Plexus

This yellow chakra is stored in the center of the body. It holds the energy that powers your confidence and your sense of purpose. This chakra is powered by exercise, and when it’s balanced, you’ll feel an increase in drive, energy, and empathy.

It helps you to feel confident with your body, which in turn helps you to feel confident in your relationships. This chakra is benefited when you eat brightly colored fruits such as lemons, mangos, and bananas, and it also has a great reaction to sunlight.

The Heart

This emerald chakra is located in the center of your chest. It holds the energy that manages your ability to give and receive love, and it is also the gateway to your unconditional appreciation of the universe. When it is balanced, you are at your most in tune with the world around you.

The chakra is charged when you eat leafy foods and green vegetables. If you spend time in nature, you should find your heart chakra is at its most active.

The Throat

This blue chakra emanates through your voice and across your shoulders. It is the chakra that most directly affects your aura. If this chakra is strong, it means you’re a communicative and extroverted person. You can power this chakra by being honest, and it becomes blocked when you are not.

The throat chakra can be cleansed by staying hydrated, particularly by drinking filtered, clean water. When it’s at its most powerful, it allows the person to be confidently and openly honest with everyone.

The Third Eye

This indigo chakra is located in the brow. It holds the energy that motivates your imagination. If the chakra is properly balanced, you become more intuitive and in touch with your psychic self. It can be charged through meditative practices and classical music.

The Crown

This purple chakra is found at the top of your head and acts as your spiritual center. It’s the root of your psychic intuition, and simply remaining healthy is what provides power to this chakra.

How Often Are My Chakras Balanced?

It is unlikely for your chakras to be balanced all of the time; it’s quite an undertaking. However, now you have the information you need, you can begin to take better care of your chakras and seek a life of stronger balance.
